2021 still has elements of uncertainty for the live events industry. Various new grants are available under a new range of government grants, loans and support programs to help stimulate a recovery and keep others afloat. These grants extend to the organisers and business participants.

The Business Events Grant
The Business Events Grant program aims to support the event industry to fund Australian businesses to participate as buyers or sellers at pre-approved business events including exhibitions, conferences and conventions from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021.
It aims to ease the financial pressure for business event organisers and to incentivise Australian business to participate as buyers/sellers at pre-approved events. Funding is to support the sustainability of events in government priority areas and to cover the cancellation costs that may occur to planned events due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
The Show Starter Loan
The Show Starter Loan Scheme is supporting up to $90 million of lending to eligible existing arts and entertainment entities that have been adversely affected by COVID-19.
Under the Scheme, the Government is guaranteeing 100% of new loans taken out by eligible arts and entertainment businesses to deliver new productions or events for a live audience. Loans are provided by participating lenders.
Live Music Australia
The Live Music Australia program is a competitive grants opportunity for small to medium sized venues that support quality original Australian live music.
The first year of funding in 2020–21 includes support for activities that assist live music venues to become operational following the impacts of COVID-19 on the industry.
The COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program
The COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program provides a one-off grant to help travel agents and tour arrangement service providers stay viable. This will help them continue to trade and to meet their legal obligations to keep paying refunds and credits to Australian consumers who are unable to travel because of COVID-19.
